Sectors
ATL will the following four strategic sectors on the recognition that the dynamic synergy of leaders across these sectors is critical to the overarching aspiration to remake a more just and equal world. One of the most important benefits envisaged from this strategic mix of sectors is that members will be able to support one another across, and not only within, the sectors.
Higher Education
ATL will strategically support the aspirations of members to achieve the ranks of professors and other senior leadership roles in universities and research organizations. This underscores the critical importance of intellectual and academic leadership for our collective aspirations. It is also expected that these leaders will help open doors of opportunities for others coming up the ladder of leadership in the Higher Education sector.
Business and
private sector
The private sector is of strategic importance. ATL seeks to support aspiring business leaders and wealth creators who understand the strategic value of wealth beyond primitive accumulation and self aggrandisement. Bespoke and well researched programme of activities, support and mentorship will be developed to support the ambition of these aspiring leaders. In addition, these leaders will be able to draw from strategic social capital and network opportunities that accrues from membership of ATL.
Media, Church and
Third sector
The media, church and Third sector are, in combination, a critical frontier of public engagement and opinion leadership. ATL will strategically enlist members who have leadership aspirations in these areas, and will
provide them with all necessary tools and strategic support as they rise up the ladder of leadership in these sectors. These include editor roles in large national and international mainstream media organisations (newspaper, TV, radio), church leadership roles with national and international impact; and leadership of charitable organisations with
international profiles.
Politics and
public sector
The political arena is a critical area of strategic intervention where the imperative of transformational leaders is arguably the strongest, giving its direct and often far reaching impact on the lives of citizens engaged in all walks of human life. It is also, curiously, the one arena that is so often left for charlatans and
megalomaniacs, who the heap untold misery on hapless citizens. ATL will focus strategic investment and support for members who have clear leadership aspirations in the political arena and public sector, with clear targets of national and international roles across executive, legislative, and civil service sectors. These include role like mayors, governors, members of parliament, national reps, senators, permanent secretaries and similar senior roles.
